Research on Healthful Aging

Seeding and Supporting Research

Some of the core activities of the CEAH, we perform seeding and supporting research by linking faculty and student investigators with older adults — our Legacy Scholars and others — around opportunities to volunteer for approved studies.

We also provide this type of recruitment service to external partners. If you are interested in learning more, contact Mary DeSilva, Sc.D., at mdesilva1@une.edu.

Surveys

Annual surveys submitted by Legacy Scholars since 2019 form a powerful data resource for student and faculty investigations. Longitudinal data allows for the examination of health and wellness factors over time. A student might review these data to solidify a research idea for new data collection, or a faculty member might conduct an analysis directly.

Additional Research

The CEAH also supports research through the provision of expert consultation, pilot grants to faculty and students, and other resources. We maintain a lending library of HD video cameras for interview-based projects and provide free or low-cost poster printing services.
