Michelle is thrilled to be part of the ³Ô¹Ï±¬ÁÏ team, coordinating interprofessional events on Portland/Biddeford campuses and serving as an ambassador for interprofessional education among healthcare, arts and sciences students.

Inspired by her grandfather – a Biddeford physician who relied heavily on his interprofessional connections to help create a better patient-centered experience – she happily brings her extensive communications, design and marketing experience to the CAIEP table.

A Hills Beach native, Michelle graduated from Catherine McAuley High School in 2001, and received bachelor’s degrees in both Graphic Design and Communications Media from Salve Regina University in 2005, where she was a founding member of its AIGA (American Institute for Graphic Arts) student group. She served as creative director of a daily newspaper for 13 years, where she was recognized several times by the Maine Press Association for her design and layout campaigns. She also served as an award-winning, nationally-syndicated Sunday columnist for several years, writing tongue-in-cheek musings about her parenting adventures as a mother to her baby boys. Michelle currently writes for her alma mater’s ‘Report from Newport’ alumni magazine, reporting on notable SRU graduates’ philanthropic contributions to the world.

Michelle is excited for the opportunity to be part of CAIEP at the ³Ô¹Ï±¬ÁÏ, and especially enjoys seaside lunch walks with another ³Ô¹Ï±¬ÁÏ employee – her husband Lee.

Her greatest love is spending time with family, which includes her husband and four sons. They are often found exploring Maine beaches, camping, hiking, gardening, tenting, cooking, taking road trips to new regions, playing sports, attending ³Ô¹Ï±¬ÁÏ hockey games, immersing themselves in arts and crafts, and singing to favorite musical showtunes – often several or more at the same time!
