Jennifer G. Audette, PT, Ph.D.

Dr. Audette, PT, Ph.D. joined ³Ô¹Ï±¬ÁÏ in 2019. She is an Associate Professor and teaches content related to professional development and practice in the curriculum. She served as the Program Director until June 2023. She has 19 years of experience in PT education. She received a BS in Physical Therapy from Northeastern University (1988), an Advanced Masters in Physical Therapy from Boston University (1992), and a PhD in Education from the University of Rhode Island (2011). Over the course of her career she has worked in a variety of clinical settings and served, for 10 years, as the Director of Rehabilitation at a Rhode Island hospital. Her research has focused on international opportunities for physical therapy students and on faculty practice. Over the past 18 years she has organized and led dozens of international experiences, all over the world, for physical therapy students.
Jennifer serves on the American Physical Therapy Association (APTA), Academy of Leadership and Innovation Board of Directors as the Director of Social Responsibility and is the Chair of the APTA Global Health Special Interest Group. She has served on the Physical Therapy Steering Committee for Health Volunteers Overseas (HVO), and is the Director of a volunteer project in Guatemala. In 2019 she was honored with the HVO Golden Apple Award. In April 2022 she was elected to the Executive Board for the North America Caribbean Region of World Physiotherapy. She has done volunteer teaching and curricular development work in Suriname, Haiti, and Guatemala. She is a 2020 graduate of the American Physical Therapy Association, Fellowship in Education Leadership.
