³Ô¹Ï±¬ÁÏ retains number one rank as best college in Maine for getting a job
For the second year in a row, the ³Ô¹Ï±¬ÁÏ was named the number one college or university in the state of Maine for graduates to get jobs, according to Zippia, a website dedicated to helping recent college graduates with their career choices.
Zippia analyzed data from the Integrated Postsecondary Education System (IPEDS) to identify the colleges and universities in each state with the highest job placement ratings, specifically looking at employment levels 10 years after students graduate. ³Ô¹Ï±¬ÁÏ’s job placement rate remained unchanged from last year at 92.83 percent.
According to the article, “One of the biggest things that incoming college freshmen consider when they’re thinking about what school to attend is the likelihood that a school will improve their job prospects.â€
³Ô¹Ï±¬ÁÏ President James Herbert, Ph.D., agrees, noting that an institution’s ability to prepare students for employment is a crucial factor for both students and their families when deciding where to attend college. ³Ô¹Ï±¬ÁÏ, he said, makes it a priority to graduate students who are career-ready. “By combining our classroom curriculum with a strong emphasis on hands-on learning —whether that be in the lab, through fieldwork, patient care, or at an internship site — our students acquire the full package of skills, including subject-specific, technical skills and the so-called ‘soft skills,’ or people skills — to really hit the ground running in their careers," he stated. "That translates to a remarkable return on investment for our students and their families.â€
The analysis by Zippia included both public and private, non-profit schools that confer at a minimum a bachelor’s degree.
