Jim Cavanaugh receives research award
., associate professor in the Department of Physical Therapy, is a 2016 recipient of the Chattanooga Research Award from the American Physical Therapy Association.
The annual award recognizes a research article published in Physical Therapy Journal that demonstrates a significant contribution to Physical Therapy and presents a novel and innovative research study. Cavanaugh was the lead author of the 2015 article, "Toward Understanding Ambulatory Activity Decline in Parkinson Disease," which resulted from his longstanding, multi-center collaboration with colleagues from around the country.
The award will be presented at the upcoming NEXT Conference and Exposition in Nashville, Tennessee in June. This is Cavanaugh’s second APTA Chattanooga Research Award.
