³Ô¹Ï±¬ÁÏ students and faculty from Maine Pharmacy Association speak with legislative staff about pharmacy bill support
A delegation from Maine Pharmacy Association (MPA), including several ³Ô¹Ï±¬ÁÏ faculty and students, recently met with legislative staff at Representative Bruce Poliquin’s office in Lewiston, Maine to advocate for the “Pharmacy and Medically underserved Areas Enhancement Act.â€
This act would amend Title XVIII of the Social Security Act to include pharmacists as providers, enabling patient access to, and payment for, pharmacy services.
The visit concluded by asking Representative Poliquin to support patient access to cost-effective pharmacy services. Representative Chellie Pingree and Senator Susan Collins have already pledged their support to the bill. The MPA delegation will meet with Senator King’s office later this month.
