Shelley Cohen Konrad and Karen Pardue facilitate IPE training in Michigan

Shelley Cohen Konrad, Ph.D., LCSW, FNAP, interim director for the School of Social Work and director of the InterProfessional Education (IPE) Collaborative and Karen Pardue, Ph.D., R.N., CNE, ANEF, associate dean in the Westbrook College of Health Professions, recently returned from Eastern Michigan University where they facilitated a two day IPE scholars training. 

Cohen Konrad and Pardue were invited by Christine Karshin, Ph.D., associate dean in the College of Health and Human Services at Eastern Michigan University. Faculty leaders from different health care disciplines learned about IPE and collaborative practice and gained the knowledge necessary to jump start interprofessional initiatives at their university. 

Cohen Konrad and Pardue frequently present nationally on the development, implementation, and evaluation of interprofessional education. 鈥湷怨媳镶檚 reputation for IPE innovation has provided us with incredible opportunities to train health educators across the nation and evoke passion for transforming health practice and education,鈥 said Cohen Konrad about the experience.
