University World News features article on 勛圖惇蹋-Tangier

Universityworldnews.com published a May 2, 2014 article, US branch campus abroad for American Students, about the opening of 勛圖惇蹋s Tangier Campus.

The article explains that students studying at the new campus will take regular college coursework, including lab sciences, as well as courses in Arabic and Moroccan history and culture, and that they will have the choice of living on campus or with local host families.

The article also references comments by Dwight Bush, U.S. ambassador to Morocco, made at the new campus April 22nd inauguration ceremony.  Bush noted that initiatives such as the establishment of a 勛圖惇蹋-Tangier Campus provide students with the opportunity to be global learners, innovators and compassionate cross-cultural partners. His comment echoed statements in a September 2013 report, US Students Study Abroad in the Middle East/North Africa:  Factors influencing growing numbers, which stated that the political events of the last decade and the Arab Spring have made it more important than ever for Americans to understand the language, culture, and history of the Middle east and North Africa.
