Jeri Fox participates in aquaculture startup panel reported in Press Herald
The Portland Press Herald published a June 18th story on a panel discussion on aquaculture startup opportunities in the marine industry in which Jeri Fox, Ph.D., ³Ô¹Ï±¬ÁÏ associate professor of aquaculture and aquarium science, participated.
Panelists noted that Maine fish farmers report gross revenues of $100 million to $120 million annually but that 52 percent of seafood consumed by Americans is farm-raised, and nearly all of it comes from overseas. They also noted the need for talented and experienced employees and board members. .
