Anne-Marie Davee interviewed for article in ā€˜The Currentā€™

The July 4, 2014 issue of The Current featured an article on healthy foods for Boomers, which focused largely on Anne-Marie Davee, M.S., R.D., L.D., SNAP-Ed nutrition program coordinator in the School of Community and Population Health.

In the article, Davee spoke about her life-long interest in nutrition, her own eating habits, and dietā€™s effect on various health issues that the Boomer generation faces.

She also commented on the low-carbohydrate diet craze:  ā€œItā€™s like a pendulumā€¦It keeps swaying one way or the other,ā€ she said.  ā€œItā€™s good for quick weight loss, but itā€™s not something Iā€™d recommend for the long term.  You get critical nutrition from the while grains and fruits.  Over time, your body misses those nutrients.ā€
