³Ô¹Ï±¬ÁÏCOM graduate and ³Ô¹Ï±¬ÁÏ BOT member David Biondi, D.O., promoted to Therapeutic Area Lead for Neuroscience at Janssen of Johnson & Johnson
David M. Biondi, D.O. (COM ‘85) has been appointed to the position of Therapeutic Area Lead for Neuroscience in the U.S. Medical Affairs group of Janssen, a pharmaceutical company of Johnson & Johnson (J&J) in Titusville N.J.
Dr. Biondi's primary role will be to develop and lead the medical affairs research and development (R&D) strategy for Alzheimer’s Disease (AD) and novel immunotherapies for the treatment and prevention of AD. He will also have overall responsibility for activities related to neurology and neurotherapeutics. Dr. Biondi began his career at J&J in 2006 as a Medical Director responsible for R&D activities in the migraine (acute and preventive) and epilepsy therapeutic areas. Prior to his latest promotion, Dr. Biondi was a Senior Medical Director who led cross-functional R&D teams in the pain therapeutics area.
Prior to joining J&J, Dr. Biondi was an internationally recognized neurologist specializing in headache and pain medicine. He served as Director of the Pain and Headache Management Programs at Spaulding Rehabilitation Hospital in Boston Mass., as well as Instructor in Neurology at Harvard Medical School and Assistant Neurologist at the Massachusetts General Hospital. Dr. Biondi was also Director of the Headache Division at the Michigan Head Pain and Neurological Institute in Ann Arbor, Mich.
Dr. Biondi is a 1985 graduate of the ³Ô¹Ï±¬ÁÏ, College of Osteopathic Medicine (³Ô¹Ï±¬ÁÏCOM). He is member of the ³Ô¹Ï±¬ÁÏ Board of Trustees and is Chair of the Board’s R&D Committee. Dr. Biondi is an Adjunct Associate Professor in the Department of Biomedical Sciences and Center of Excellence in Neuroscience at UNECOM. He graduated magna cum laude with a B.S. in Pharmacy from the Long Island University, Schwartz College of Pharmacy & Health Sciences in Brooklyn, N.Y. He completed his Neurology Residency at the National Naval Medical Center in Bethesda, Md. and is board-certified in Neurology with a subspecialty certification in Pain Management.
