David Smith's 'Most Dangerous Animal' translated into Polish, basis of short film
David Livingstone Smith's 2007 book, The Most Dangerous Animal: Human Nature and the Origins of War, has been translated into Polish and is the basis for a short film being produced by filmmaker Al Sutton. began in 2010 when Sutton initiated an independent movement to "stop the killing." Sutton describes the project as part of a multi-media production consisting of live performance, film and music.
Smith's book, published originally by St. Martins, explores the evolutionary and psychological roots of war and genocide, with a view towards identifying what it is about human nature that makes it possible for us to treat our fellow human beings with such extraordinary brutality. Smith is associate professor in ³Ô¹Ï±¬ÁÏ's Department of Philosophy and Religious Studies.
