Lecture by Ali Mazrui garners newspaper coverage
The April 9, 2010 issue of the Journal Tribune (Biddeford) covered a lecture at UNE by Cornell University professor and author Ali Mazrui. In his lecture, titled "From Othello to Obama: Is this the Dawn of a Post-Racial Age?," Mazrui hypothesized that the post-racial age may be upon us but that racial prejudice may be superseded by an age of cultural prejudice, similar to the time of Shakespeare. Mazrui is the creator of the acclaimed BBC and PBS series "The Africans: A Triple Heritage." The story also quoted Ali Ahmida, ³Ô¹Ï±¬ÁÏ professor and chair of the Political Science Department, who introduced Mazrui.
