COM and CEN faculty member Robert Lenox to participate in NIDA advisory panel
Robert Lenox, M.D., professor of psychiatry and pharmacology, ³Ô¹Ï±¬ÁÏ College of Osteopathic Medicine, has accepted an invitation from the National Institute on Drug Abuse (NIDA) to serve on a Scientific Drug Discovery and Development Panel. The NIDA meeting is being held in Rockville, Maryland in mid January and is tasked with facilitating the development of novel medications to treat substance use disorders.
Participants were chosen based on their scientific reputations and expertise in translational neuroscience research. Dr. Lenox served as vice president and worldwide ead of CNS Drug Discovery at Sanofi-Aventis from 2001-2006. Prior to this he held the Karl and Linda Rickels Professorship at the University of Pennsylvania School of Medicine. Dr. Lenox resides in Maine and has been working with ³Ô¹Ï±¬ÁÏ faculty and students to promote scholarship and medical education.
