CEN Director Edward Bilsky presents at the World Pharmaceutical Congress
Edward Bilsky, Ph.D., professor in ³Ô¹Ï±¬ÁϹs College of Osteopathic Medicine and director of the Center for Excellence in the Neurosciences (CEN), chaired a roundtable discussion at the 9th Annual World Pharmaceutical Congress on June 16th in Philadelphia. The session focused on the challenges associated with analgesic drug discovery and early stage development, including the use of preclinical models to predict efficacy and safety of novel compounds. The conference attracted leaders from the biotechnology and pharmaceutical industries as well as scientists at academic universities and contract research organizations. Jeff Mogil, Ph.D., from McGill University organized a half-day pre-meeting workshop on a similar topic and will be speaking at the ³Ô¹Ï±¬ÁÏ on July 12th on the Biddeford campus.
