Art Gallery's 'Going Forward,Looking Back' featured as cover story in Art New England magazine

An exhibition at UNE's Art Gallery on the Portland Campus was featured in a three-page cover spread with seven photographs in the November/December 2010 issue of magazine. The exhibition, titled 'Going Forward, Looking Back,' was a survey of 24 contemporary New England photographers practicing historical photographic processes. The show, which was curated by ³Ô¹Ï±¬ÁÏ Professor Emeritus Stephen Halpert, was on display at the Art Gallery from Nov. 17, 2009  - Jan. 31, 2010. Reviewer Carl Little writes: "The photographers in this show continue, in certain respects, to seek to overhaul reality - or at least to represent it in a wonderful range of tones and values that hark back to the pioneering days of the art while often playing a modern turn on subject and/or representation." The exhibition is currently on display at Maine Media Workshops, Rockport, Maine.
