CECE Event – Restraints and Seclusion in Maine Schools: We Can Do Better

6:00 pm - 7:30 pm
Portland Campus for the Health Sciences, Biddeford Campus

Maine schools are allowed to restrain and seclude children ages 3-20 in the case of emergency; however, Maine ranks #1 in the use of restraint and #2 in the use of seclusion nationally. Furthermore, students with disabilities are restrained and secluded at much higher rates than others. Join us for a panel discussion and problem-solving around this issue.

This event will be facilitiated by ³Ô¹Ï±¬ÁÏ Education Department Chair and Associate Professor Audrey Bartholomew, Ph.D.
