Transformative Trash - Repurposing for a Purpose
Stemming from the Social Justice and Applied Arts exhibit, the ³Ô¹Ï±¬ÁÏ School of Social work is happy to present the Artist Talk and Brown Bag Lunch series. In the first of this series, Artist Kris Hall and Organizer Elizabeth McLellen will discuss the intersection of art and activism, and present on the use of medical blue wrap as a medium to raise awareness and funding for Partners for World Health. The act of turning trash into treasure is not a new idea, but in this case the medium and the message raise awareness for everything from recycling to the state of health care in third world countries. Learn about how you can get involved in the next blue wrap fashion show, and pick up some "yardage" to play with! Please feel free to bring your own brown bag lunch. Coffee and tea will be provided.
