Nor'easter Reverse Sprint Triathlon
Get the winter dust off of your tri gear and join in on the fun. Reverse triathlon has arrived in Maine. What better way to jump back(wards) into Triathlon in 2011?
We wanted to start triathlon season earlier this year and after looking at all the options decided that a reverse triathlon would be the most fun-filled way of doing it.
The Nor'easter Reverse Sprint Triathlon is at 9:00 on Sunday April 3rd, 2011.Our race is at the ³Ô¹Ï±¬ÁÏ, situated on the banks of the Saco River in Biddeford, Maine. This is a USAT sanctioned race with chip timing.
How Will This Reverse Idea Work?
We will start with a 3.1 mile run on a loop course and return to an Indoor Transition in the gymnasium of the Campus Center.. The run will be followed by an 11 mile loop bike course on very smooth (really) pavement. After traveling through transtion the second time, the race finishes with a 150 yard snake swim in the indoor pool.
(A snake swim is completed by swimming down the pool in lane 1, back in lane 2, down in lane 3, back in lane 4, down in lane 5, back in lane 6 and then climbing out of the pool and crossing the timing mat.)
We didn't invent the reverse idea, there are reverse races all around the country, One in New Mexico is in it's 30th year.
Visit our website for registration, maps of the course, and more information.
